Home Reading

Oxford Owl have free e- books that you can download onto your devices at home.

If you would like to know your child’s reading level for this website, please email me and I can send you the information individually.

Parents can further support their children with their reading through:

Predicting – What do they think this text is about?

Clarify – What new vocabulary have they experienced? Meaning?

Question – What would they still like to know?

Summary – In their words, what is the text about?

Writing

This week’s story is Zog. You can access the story through the link below. It is available on BBC Iplayer.

This weeks task is to create your own Zog story book.

Activity 1

Write a plan to help you structure your story. Remember to include all the main events;

  • Beginning
  • Build up to the problem in the story
  • The problem
  • Solution to the problem
  • The ending.

Activity 2

Write up the story in your own words. Remember to use you plan to help you. It would be great to see illustrations to bring your story to life.

Activity 3
