English Week 18

The school have purchased a KS2 Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling CGP question book for each child.

This week I would like the children to complete pages 94&95 (Plurals and Apostrophes) and pages 96, 97&98 (Homophones).

The books provide an answer section to support parents. Children are NOT to rush through the book.

This week I want to children to complete the following ‘Bitesize’ lessons to revise what we have learnt this year;

Creating a comic strip https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z3vfxbk

Sound words https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zkvyxbk

Reading – Parents can further support their children with their reading through:

Predicting – What do they think this text is about?

Clarify – What new vocabulary have they experienced? Meaning?

Question – What would they still like to know?

Summary – In their words, what is the text about?

Bedrock learning – All parents have received an email with your child’s log in details. Read the following and the children will complete the assessment at the start.

Bedrock-Vocabulary-Student-Introduction_Jan19-5e7c764246e46

Please continue to work through the new vocabulary.

RE:

Our final topic of the year is God’s People. We are really fortunate that CAFOD provide all the resources for this time of the year. Please look at the PowerPoint first…

Nitus-story (1)

Then write a letter to a younger child in the school, telling them what you have been learning about saints and, in particular, how they can live their lives to show what God is like and why it would be good to do so.

PE:

Physical activity is extremely important.  Joe Wicks has some brilliant home work outs for children and adults alike to complete at home to ensure we’re fighting fit and healthy.

Online safety:

With children facing time in isolation, it is important that they work through the online safetfy module to keep them safe when accessing the internet.
