Outdoor Learning
We use Outdoor Learning as a driver across the curriculum within subjects such as science, history, geography and PSHE. These are not stand alone lessons but link into the learning intentions which is are developed by the class teacher.
For example during the Communities theme Y2 were looking at why people settled in Worksop. The children were taken to explore a stretch of canal in Worksop.
The Outdoor Learning specialist works across the school from EYFS – Y6.
Vision
Outdoor Education at Holy Family Catholic Primary School offers all children opportunities to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment.
When we learn outside we:
- are equal and successful
- explore and discover
- take appropriate risk and challenge ourselves
- make choices and drive our own learning
- develop positive relationships with ourselves and other people
- develop a strong, positive relationship with our world
We promise to look after the world around us. We promise to keep everyone learning. We promise to keep everyone included. We promise to keep everyone safe.
