Uniform
The governing body has a duty placed upon them to ensure that school policies promote good behaviour and discipline and strongly support the valuable role of uniform in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone.
Governors agree that any reasonable requests to vary this policy, in particular to meet the needs of any individual pupil to accommodate their religion or belief, ethnicity, disability or other special considerations will be supported. No child will be put at a particular disadvantage because of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, belief or gender reassignment.
Uniform Policy Compliance
Given that governors will consider any reasonable request for flexibility, we expect all children to adhere to the policy. In the unlikely event of children not being compliant, the school behaviour policy will be used.
Donations & Lost Uniform
We encourage parents to donate uniform that is of no use and we strongly advise that all school uniform is name tagged. The school will frequently display lost property on a table top stall in the playground at the end of the school day and parents are welcome to look in the lost property box next to the main Reception.
Other Dress Code Rules
On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery, nail varnish or make-up in school. The exceptions to this rule are earring studs in pierced ears, watches and small objects of religious significance. We ask the children to remove these objects during P.E., to prevent them from causing injury. All long hair should be tied back during P.E. lessons.
This policy does not allow children to have extreme haircuts, styles or accessories that could serve as a distraction to themselves or the other children.
UNIFORM SUPPLIERS
Some parts of the uniform can be bought with the school logo. These can be purchased from L&O Stitch 01909 475270 who have a shop in Worksop or from MyClothing Holy Family Catholic Primary School – My Clothing . However, to support our families, we do not insist that items have a logo and the blazers for pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 are optional. Ties are available at a low cost from the school office. Many local supermarkets and suppliers provide key parts of the uniform at a low cost. A local charity organisation also collects good condition, second hand uniform which is available.
